At Bedrocktherapies, we offer a unique approach to therapy by meeting clients in the serene, secluded settings of regional parks. Nature serves as a co-therapist, helping clients access deeper levels of awareness, grounding, and healing. Many clients, especially those dealing with complex trauma, find outdoor therapy allows them to process fears and trauma with greater ease compared to traditional office settings.
The therapy process begins with a specific protocol during the first two sessions, which can be conducted outdoors or virtually. Whether you’re in the park or at home, we guide you through every step of the journey.
During the pandemic, we worked with first responders across the U.S. through an online-only NGO initiative, demonstrating how effective TEAM CBT, EMDR, and IFS can be in creating awareness, healing, and repair, even in challenging and distant circumstances. These therapeutic models proved powerful, and Zoom therapy allowed us to support clients regardless of their location.
While we prefer nature as a co-therapist, we also excel in using Zoom with our healing models, ensuring you receive the same transformative therapy from wherever you are.
Our office is located on the original homeland of the Bay Miwok people, whose deep connection to the land inspires us to be with the earth and find refuge in its truth. The Miwoks and their wisdom traditions were here first, and their emphasis on sustainability, community-based living, and oral traditions all influence how ideally we wish we could work in present-day life as human beings, rather than human doers. Their wisdom guides us as we foster healing through nature, shared decision-making, and storytelling in therapy.
